Creating Art
With Intention
Offering Unique and Realistic Wildlife Paintings
Nature—The Primary Canvas of My Artistry
My name is Denise Johanson, a creative, who is passionate about art and nature. Most of my paintings are focused on the realism of wildlife art because wild animals have an unspoiled innate beauty and are true to their instinctual inner nature. I am clear as to where their boundaries are and find them worthy of my trust and respect. This resonance I feel of, “what they say”, is why I must paint them.
As an Artist
Ever since I was young, I loved art. It became a method for me to overcome the struggles that I had in life. The connection that I have for art and wildlife conservation has motivated me to continue sharing my craft with the world.

What Inspires Me
My passion for the visual arts has relentlessly pushed me to pursue knowledge in order to continually improve every work that I make. I was fortunate enough to have a profound influence in painting and I thank Philip Journeay, an artist and teacher, for helping me refine my natural talent in visual arts. His approach in art has significantly advanced my artistic journey and I still study with him to this day.
Further influences come from the works of Bob Kuhn, David Shepard, Howard Turpning and Greg Beechum, whom I greatly admire.
