I have had blue heron as one of my animal totems for many years now. When I lived on the banks of the Willamette river, my daily walks along the rivers edge were often blessed by seeing a blue heron (Ardea herodias) as they slowly waded through the water or patiently waited for their prey. It is said that those with the blue heron spirit animal in the Native American tradition possess innate wisdom and strength that helps them maneuver and co-create their own situations and achievements in life. I sure hope that’s true. 🙂
