Description
“The 416” 16×20 Rigby rifle Oil painting was a collaboration between my friend Todd Kilby from Anchorage Alaska and I. He provided the reference photo of the Cape Buffalo skull (borrowed from his friend Dave Peterson) and his beautiful 416 Rigby rifle. I then purchased Cape Buffalo hooves, collected fan palms from the neighborhood and plowed up a section my garden to make the hoover imprints and fan palm placement, making sure I had the sun at the right angle matching Todds photo. About half way in Todd (brilliant Todd) thought what if we added some cartridges? “Great idea, send them down!” More garden photos and added in the 416 cartridges to the composition. Nearing completion a little hidden surprise was added. Can you find it?
A limited edition of only 25, 16×20 canvas Giclee’s will available to purchase at John Rigby & Co soon. Each piece has been personally signed, stamped and hand varnished by the artist. 50% of proceeds fund Robin Hurts Wildlife Foundation.
I would love to have your support to meet my goal of donating $100,000 by 2032 to support Wildlife Conservation.
